My Safe Florida Home Program was developed to help protect homes against hurricanes and help Florida homeowners save money. Through this program, homeowners in designated wind–borne regions could be eligible to receive $2 in grant money for every $1 they spend on eligible hurricane–proofing improvements, up to a maximum of $10,000. Additionally, from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2024, retail purchases of impact–resistant doors, impact–resistant garage doors, and impact–resistant windows will not be charged state sales tax (6%). Lastly, by participating in the program, homeowners may also benefit from lower home insurance premiums.
You may be eligible to apply for $2 in state grant money* for every $1 you spend on eligible home strength improvements (*up to $10,000, the home must be located in designated wind-borne regions).
